Audit Committee: September 20, 2023
The Audit Committee Meeting for the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board took place on September 20, 2023. During the meeting, staff brought forward four reports with two recommendations for discussion.
I voted in favour of the recommendation in Report 23-067 for the External Auditor's Audit Plan for the 2023 to 2024 year-end Audit. The report sought the approval of the Audit Committee to approve the audit plan for the 2022 to 2023 Consolidated Financial Statements. The recommendation was carried.
I voted in favour of the recommendations in the 2023 to 2024 Annual Report for the Ontario East Regional Internal Audit Team Activities. The annual plan outlines the essential requirements under the regulation, the charter, and the framework, such as a confirmation of the independence of the audit activities, a description of its function a confirmation of conformance with the Code of Ethics, and a summary of the 2022 to 2023 activities. The plan sought the receipt for the 2023 to 2024 Annual Report on Internal Audit Activities and the approval of the charter for the Regional Internal Audit Team Charter. The recommendations were carried.
The 2023 to 2024 Regional Internal Audit Plan was brought forward to provide the Committee with information on the 2023 to 2024 Regional Internal Audit Plan. The Plan outlines the current audit schedule and progress updates by the Audit team.
The 2022 to 2023 Ontario-East District School Board Enrolment Data Analysis was brought forward to provide the Committee information on various aspects related to enrolment and market share trends in each neighbourhood and Forward Sortation Area within each neighbourhood.
The Long Range Agenda was brought forward to provide the Committee information on the long-range agenda for audits for the 2023 to 2024 school year.
